Birds. Monochrome Stories

Drawing

Water birds are colonial animals and strong hunters, at the same time enduring and uncomplaining they sometimes even seem to have no individuality. They come from one big common covey, they are all alike, maybe even identical – all black and white.
These creatures do not possess brilliance and glory. Their colour eliminates brightness while the voices are unmelodic. Everything in them is rigid, everything what is done is according to the function. There is nothing excessive: strict forms, exact phrases, intense fights, impressive monologues and ... and there is something left ... their details of magnificent beauty of the monochrome individuality
If you “switch off“ the external color and melody they will become more luminous. Once you pause, look closely, concentrate and become a part of what you observe – the number of details and the sense of uniqueness increase. There is a special character, particular sense and unique story in every bird.
They are almost human beings: ordinary, grey, plain, homely... special.
